Common Questions
You can either email me (Suzanne@corementalhealth.co.uk) or text me (07850 422444) or fill in the form using the ‘Contact’ tab of this website and fill in your contact details so that I can get in touch with you. If you would like a FREE 20-minute no-obligation chat I can easily arrange this for you after you get in touch. If you are happy to go ahead, we can then decide on a time that suits us both for the first session and then we can take it from there. I will aim to get back to you within 48 hours of you sending me a message.
We will go through a process called case formulation where we will discuss what you want and need from the sessions. We will discuss what approach you’d like (once I’ve explained the types of counselling that I think would suit you) and you will have every opportunity to ask questions and share anything you’d like to. Please do not feel obligated to share anything that you are not ready to, but alternatively, please share each and every thing you’d like to. You can rely on me not being judgemental about anything! We can then we can discuss how often you’d like to have counselling if my approach and the plan we set together is what you want.
Counselling in working hours (9:30am-6pm, weekdays) costs £60 for an hours session and includes a free, no-obligation phone call with me (or online chat if you prefer) for you to decide if therapy is suitable for you. Therapy in the evenings (6pm-8:30pm) and at the weekends costs £70 for an hour.
Therapy is an investment that provides an opportunity for life-changing growth. Register your interest using the contact form and I will be in touch with you. Please make payment via BACS as soon as possible before the session- I will email you my bank details before our first session.
The sessions last for 50 minutes. It is important to me that my clients all feel important and so, even if you are unavoidably late for a session, I will only be able to offer you the time left for the agreed session so this does not inconvenience other clients that day.
There is plenty of free road parking on Battenhall Road (which is a 2 minute walk from me). Timberdine Avenue is often busy I’m afraid due to the 2 nearby schools 🙂
I would be grateful if you could cancel with at least 48 hours-notice and then you will not be charged for the missed session. If you cancel after that, then you will still need to pay for the appointment as I have committed the time. I acknowledge that emergencies and exceptional circumstances happen, and I will try to be more accommodating in such circumstances; if a genuine emergency prevented you from attending, and also from letting me know, I will consider giving you a free future session to make up for the one you missed.
Sometimes people want to have a counselling session every week, but for some it may be once a fortnight. I am open to accommodating but have found that having regular counselling fosters trust and increases results through consistency and dedication to the work.
I am aware that anxiety is a normal and natural response to fear and worry in daily life and have developed a unique approach to combating it. I have worked with children, adults and adolescents living with debilitating anxiety and helped them to feel calmer. By exploring your anxious feelings, together we can make a plan for you going forward so that everything becomes more manageable. I welcome anything that you bring however…and am trained in helping with many life challenges outside of anxiety.
